Individual and couples therapy with Zara Maqbool
Zara is a UK-based qualified Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist working with individuals and couples. She has specialised in Psychodynamic and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, and is a trained EMDR and Trauma Informed Therapist.
Therapy for individuals
I support adults aged 18 and over who are seeking to heal from mental health concerns such as anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), addiction, sexual abuse, anger management difficulties, emotional regulation concerns, and attachment-related issues. My role is to support clients in developing self-awareness, process unresolved conflicts, and help them heal from trauma and move towards healing & psychological well-being.
Therapy for couples
I have vast experience in couples therapy that can transform the way you and your partner connect by changing the negative, repetitive cycle in which you are stuck. Some of the areas in which I will help your relationship are facilitating healthy communication, strengthening emotional and sexual intimacy, and building a safe and secure attachment bond. Therapy will help resolve relationship injuries such as infidelity, addiction, parenting conflicts, and sexual difficulties to name a few.
Meet Zara – an experienced, therapist and author.
Hello, I’m Zara, a therapist and author with a deep passion for human psychology. With more than ten years of experience in the field, I have supported individuals and couples in changing unhelpful patterns, healing emotional wounds, and leading fulfilling and fully functioning lives.
How I Work
As a practitioner, I am deeply attuned to the client’s conscious and unconscious processes and grounded in comprehensive theoretical knowledge derived from numerous trainings I have completed and integrated into my therapeutic work. Every client is unique and complex, and I believe that a single therapeutic modality is not sufficient to support an individual. For this reason, I integrate diverse therapeutic approaches to provide individualized care tailored to your needs, goals, and personal experiences.
“Where do we start?” I invite you to take the first step, and I will support you throughout your therapeutic journey. Together, we explore the challenges you are facing, uncover patterns that may be holding you back, and develop practical tools to foster growth, healing, and resilience. I provide a safe and confidential space where you can share your innermost thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.
My approach is collaborative and compassionate, emphasizing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and personal empowerment. I aim to help clients not only navigate current difficulties but also cultivate long-term well-being, stronger relationships, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
What I offer
I am excited to support you on your therapeutic journey and working through any mental health concerns you may be experiencing. I offer an initial free 15 minutes consultation to address any queries you may have. Therapy is a difficult decision but a very important one and I try my best to support each client that I work with the same degree of care, compassion and commitment.
I provide a safe, empathetic and non-judgmental space for clients seeking healing and change. Sessions are available in-person or online.
Fees & Timings:
I offer a range of daytime and evening appointments, Monday to Friday, and see clients on either a weekly or fortnightly basis. For most clients, weekly sessions are the most therapeutically effective, though I understand this may not always be feasible. I am happy to discuss alternative scheduling options to suit your individual circumstances.
My current fees are as follows:
- Individual (50 minutes): £75
- Couple (60 minutes): £110
Clients are kindly asked to provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations. This allows sessions to be rescheduled and ensures availability for other clients.
